About JAG Public Relations
The heart, soul, brain and brawn behind JAG Public Relations, Joe Gargiulo founded his marketing communications firm following a tenure in the Sonoma County wine industry.
He is a product of northern New Jersey, but has resided in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1976. His working-class upbringing instilled him with solid work ethics, a sense of urgency, great resiliency and a commitment to social responsibility.
“Public relations is a field that demands a broad sense of awareness, so its practitioners must continually educate themselves in economics, politics, health, the environment, telecommunications and so much more,” he says. “I enjoy learning about new things. My favorite assignment is writing client biographies because human lives are like fingerprints, and no two are alike.”
Gargiulo studied environmental engineering at Georgia Tech, music at Georgia State, wine marketing at Santa Rosa Junior College and communications at Sonoma State. He also spent 15 years in the food and beverage industry, capping that career in 1993 as the manager of a blues club.
Away from the office, he enjoys a second career as a professional musician, hiking, culinary experimentation, and spending time with his significant other Deanna, her daughters Megan and Hayley, and their dogs Jasper and Delilah.
